Click here to see the public directory. For information on how to obtain a WRAS Approval or secondary approval, please click on Resources for Applicants.
The directory lists Water Fittings showing that they are approved by WRAS as complying with the requirements of The Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999, the Water Supply (Water Fittings) (Scotland) Byelaws 2014, and Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009 when correctly installed.
In order for approval to be granted the fittings are mechanically tested against the Regulator’s Specification. The non-metallic materials/components of construction undergo water quality testing against BS6920:2000 parts 1-3.
WRAS Fitting Approvals are valid for a maximum of five years. In order to maintain a WRAS Fitting Approval, products are retested every 5 years.
Installation requirement notes (IRN’s)
Included with every fitting listed are one or more Installation Requirement Notes (IRNs). These explain any installation conditions applied as a condition of WRAS Approval.
These installation conditions must be followed if the fitting is to comply with the legal requirements of the regulations and byelaws. Each entry in the Fittings section has one or more IRN numbers next to the WRAS Approval Number, indicating which installation requirements apply to that product.

The approval details the models and sizes covered by the scope of the approval and the maximum operating parameters they can be subjected to.
