Clicker type waste testing, removed testing requirements.

Following careful consideration, evaluation and the approval holder consultation earlier his year Water regulations approval scheme WRAS have decided to make the following changes to our tap applications:

The removal of the requirement for mandatory testing of clicker type wastes

Applications received for the PAAG meeting in September 2024 will not require the testing to be carried out. if the testing has been carried out the listing will be mark as the click type waste has been tested to the following TCS 4001.10. This will be the same for all existing approvals already found on the database. If an applicant would like to continue have their listing to continue to state that the waste has been tested it will be at their discretion and highlighted at the point of application that testing will be required.

Elimination of Individual Approvals for Clicker Type Wastes.

From the end of 2024 we will not be accepting any applications for individual approval of a clicker type waste, all existing products of this type which are listed within the category will continue to be listed on the WRAS website, by the end of 2029 there will be no clicker type wastes listed on the WRAS directory.

This change is based on the understanding that other types of wastes are not subjected to any testing, and thus, having individual approval for this specific waste is not essential. We want to assure you that these proposed changes have been carefully evaluated, and we firmly believe that they have no direct implications on the key areas of Regulation 4 of the UK Water regulations.
